The DevOps Engineer will develop and implement automated deployments, standardize test environments, maintain third-party libraries, coordinate infrastructure software upgrades, and implement automated code review tools and processes. 
Duties and responsibilities 
• Implement and enhance automated application deployments for production and development/testing environments
• Contribute to the maintenance and support of our testing infrastructure including data setup/teardown, software deployments, and the identification of test systems deficiencies
• Implement monitoring tools to find problems and resolve/escalate to development teams to ensure that we meet our coding and testing standards
• Investigate and update the system build process to meet current best practices
• Assist developers in debugging application issues related to environment setup
• Develop utilities to efficiently set up and maintain local developer environments
• Participate in the building of tools and processes to support the development infrastructure
• Implement processes to ensure system configuration is consistent across environments
• Coordinate infrastructure software upgrades
• Leverage scripting to build required automation on an ad-hoc basis
• Learn on the job and explore new technologies with little supervision 
• Prior Development and Scripting experience: 5+ years                      
• College Degree (BA/BS or computer science) or equivalent work experience  
• Experience with Linux OS
 • Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python, Perl, Powershell)  
• Strong knowledge of an RDBMS such as MySQL or Oracle
• Java development experience
• Experience working within an IDE such as Eclipse • Knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate
• Experience with automation frameworks/configuration management tools such as Jenkins/Puppet/Chef/Hudson/Cruise Control • Implementing & utilizing SCM tools (Git, Subversion - SVN, Jenkins), Build tools (Maven, Gradle), Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with Web application installations, upgrades, and deployment as well as servers that host/support web applications 
• Understanding of protocols/technologies like HTTP, SSL, LDAP, JDBC, Servlet/JSP, SQL, HTML, XML
• Java Application Server administration and tuning experience (Tomcat) a plus
• Knowledgeable with Nexus, IBM Sterling, Jasper Reports, Nagios is a big plus
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Comfort with frequent, incremental code integration and deployment
• Understanding of unit testing/functional testing, and continuous integration
• Understanding of Kanban/Agile processes
• Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
